Sep 2026 – now

Undergraduate Researcher, Miqin Zhang Lab

University of Washington · Seattle, WA

  • Developing polymer-coated iron oxide nanoparticles for targeted RNA delivery to pediatric brain tumors, using PEG/PEI conjugation and T7/CCT to support blood–brain barrier transport and tumor-cell uptake.

Oct 2026 – now

Undergraduate Researcher, Straehla Lab

University of Washington · Seattle, WA

  • Joining Maurice Lewis to study lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation and its applications in drug delivery.

Jan 2025 – Jul 2026

Lead Researcher, Pazzi Lab

reThink64 · Bioengineering · Fremont, CA

  • Lipid-vesicle research across GUVs, MLVs and lipid nanoparticles, using fluorescence microscopy, ImageJ and dynamic light scattering.
  • MLV hydration study (senior project): ran the NaCl and CaCl₂ screens on DOPC vesicles, imaged by fluorescence microscopy and measured in ImageJ. Team poster: “High Yields of Multilamellar Vesicles using Monovalent Ionic Buffers.”
  • GUV formation: tested four of the group's ten film solvents (acetone, ethanol, isopropanol and chloroform) and their evaporation conditions.
  • Membrane rupture: carmofur-analog studies using GUV popping assays.
  • Transdermal delivery: ran delivery testing on a 3D-printed multiplex diffusion platform (up to 96 parallel trials); the manuscript is in preparation for Nature Biomedical Engineering (impact factor 26.3).
  • Lab software: built custom APIs and Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers connecting Claude to the plate reader, HPLC, LC-MS, UV-Vis and NMR, plus a dashboard and Matplotlib analysis scripts.
  • Also: a skin-mimetic MLV platform for cosmetic delivery.

Sep 2022 – Jan 2025

Lead Researcher, Zhang Lab

ASDRP · Biological Chemistry · Fremont, CA

  • Coauthor, “Synthesis, antiproliferative activity, and biological profiling of C-19 trityl and silyl ether andrographolide analogs in colon cancer and breast cancer cells,” Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters 121, 130163 (2025).
  • KRAS G12C inhibitors: ran MTT, colony-formation and transwell-migration assays for 5 of 12 5-phenylisoxazole compounds across Calu-1, HCT116, MDA-MB-231 and MCF7 cells. Presented at WCBSURC 2023 and ACS Fall 2024 (see above).
  • Combination therapy: with two partners, ran every single-agent and combination MTT screen of cisplatin with podophyllotoxin derivatives in HCT116 and MDA-MB-231.
  • Immunomodulation: ran Jurkat suspension MTT assays and set up an NK-92MI/tumor 3D coculture model for new andrographolide analogs, until the project's funding ran out.
  • Group leader who trained newer lab members. Tissue culture, MTT, colony and scratch-migration assays, Western blotting, qPCR.
